VIJAYAWADA: A man got 10 years of jail term for raping his daughter. A special bench in Vijayawada ACB court on Tuesday convicted Shaik Mastan Vali under Protecting Children from Sexual Abuses Act. The Court also imposed Rs 1 lakh fine on the convict. The incident took place at Valluripalem in Thotla Valluru mandal in September 2015. Shaik Mastan Vali was living separately from his wife Shaik Ranjan Bee for the last eight years. Two months before the incident took place Mastan Vali went to his wife’s place and took his minor daughter along with him. Then he committed the heinous crime repeatedly.
The incident came to light after two months when the girl managed to go to her mother and explained her about her ordeal. Her health deteriorated by then. Shaik Ranjan Bee approached the police and lodged a complaint against her husband. Police arrested Mastan Vali and sent him to jail. Upon hearing the matter, the court convicted Mastan Vali and sentenced him to 10 years of jail term along with Rs 1 lakh fine of which Rs 75,000 was given to the victim.
The court also said in its judgment that the penal amount should be paid before September 30. The court further said that if the convict failed to pay the amount, the government should confiscate his properties and if he doesn’t have any properties he will get another six months jail term.
