Man pushes girl under tanker over marriage

HYDERABAD: A 26-year-old man, G. Tirupathi, pushed one M. Pramila under the wheels of a water tanker after she refused to marry him, killing her on the spot in broad daylight, Bachupally police said on Sunday.

The incident occurred at 11.30 am near a college, when the victim, Pramila, was crossing the road divider. Tirupathi tried to pass it off as an accident, Bachupally sub-inspector Ramesh said. But the driver of the tanker and passersby confirmed that Tirupathi had pushed her under the vehicle. “We took him into custody,” Ramesh said.

During interrogation, Tirupati claimed that he was in love with Pramila for two years and lost his temper when she refused to marry him. The victim used to work as a sales girl at a mall and resided in a hostel in Bachupally.
