Hyderabad: Speeding BMW hits GHMC staffer in Banjara Hills

Hyderabad: A speeding BMW allegedly driven by a woman in an inebriated condition rammed into a GHMC staffer riding a scooter, leaving him severely injured at Banjara Hills in the wee hours of Friday. The victim, identified as G Balachandar Yadav, 29, working as an Area Manager with the GHMC on contract basis, was on his way to work, when the BMW coming in the opposite direction rammed into him. His colleagues who were with him rushed him to a private hospital, where he is undergoing treatment now.

Eye witnesses said that after hitting Yadav’s bike, the BMW slowed down and they saw more than two women in the vehicle. “ They looked like they were drunk and they were smoking,” they told Yadav’s colleagues. Prima facie, police found the vehicle is registered in the name of a construction company. When contacted, the owner told police that he had sold off the vehicle four months ago, but the ownership transfer was not done.

Police have started a hunt to trace the vehicle and also the person driving the vehicle at the time of the incident. Yadav received injuries on head, face, shoulders and ribs. Banjara Hills police registered a case and started an investigation.
