Hyderabad: Harasser coach, invigilator held

Hyderabad: Rachakonda SHE teams nabbed 54 men, including six minors, last month for harassing women.

Among those held was an invigilator, Chekuri Mahesh, 29, who allegedly misbehaved with a 21-year-old girl student who was writing her BTech exams. According to the victim, Mahesh offered to clear her doubts.

When she asked for his help, he took out his mobile phone and showed her porn videos and allegedly told her: “If you agree to do this, I will show you the answer.” The victim narrated the incident to her parents and Abdullapurmet police arrested Mahesh.

In another case, SHE teams arrested swimming coach Uppari Naveen, 26, for allegedly harassing a 13-year-old girl at the V Sports Academy at Bandlaguda. He did not stop when her parents warned him, and went to her house and misbehaved with her. LB Nagar police arrested him for outraging a woman’s modesty and trespass and under the provisions of the POCSO Act.

SHE teams in decoy operations in the last two months nabbed 54 harassers in Malkajgiri and Bhu-vanagiri They conducted decoy operations and caught 21 men who were misbehaving with women and school children.

SHE teams sub-inspector Veera Bha-dram said the hara-ssers are counselled by professional psychologist counsellors from Bhumika wo-men's collective.
