Vehicle lifter arrested at Raidurgam
Hyderabad: A 40-year-old auto driver who has earlier worked for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on a contract basis was arrested by the Raidurgam police for stealing bikes and cars using false keys. Pilli Shiva Kumar, a ganja and alcohol addict resorted to the offences only in an inebriated condition.
The police recovered two cars and seven bikes from Kumar which were stolen in Hyderabad and Cyberabad police commissionerates.
Kumar, a resident of GJS nagar in Filmnagar, was a garbage vehicle driver for GHMC. He regularly visited prostitutes and decided to steal vehicles to earn money.
Since 2017, Shiva has stolen seven bikes and a car under Raidurgam limits and another car from Chilakalguda area.
Madhapur DCP A. Venkateshwar Rao on Friday said that Kumar was one of the most wanted offenders in Cyberabad. Special teams were formed to nab him after his images were collected through CCTV cameras at various places.
“On Friday, a team intercepted Kumar at Khajaguda when he was on a stolen bike. On questioning, he confessed to the offences,” said Mr Rao.
