KSRTC staffer booked for sexually harassing daughter-in-law
Bengaluru: A 59-year-old KSRTC employee was arrested by the JC Nagar police for allegedly sexually harassing his daughter-in-law.
The accused, Abdul Rahman Ilyas, a resident of Benson Town and a divisional controller with KSRTC, allegedly asked his newlywed daughter-in-law to strip before him as he stood naked. He also asked her about her private moments with her husband Abdul Hadi, whom she married in December.
She further complained to the police that the accused cheated her and her family before marriage, claiming that Abdul Hadi was a graduate and worked in a reputed company, while in fact he was a school dropout.
When the victim questioned her husband, both Abdul Hadi and his father started harassing her. Unable to bear the harassment, she left the house before filing a complaint in the first week of July.
She also produced evidence of Ilyas’ pervert act, and based on that, the police arrested him. He has been booked for outraging her modesty and also under dowry harassment.
