Chennai: Veteran film director Bharathiraja, who has been facing various charges for speaking against the government, suffered yet another headache after the traffic police booked his son actor Manoj for drunk driving, on Friday.
The actor was driving his BMW car from Valluvar Kottam on Sterling Road when the Nungambakkam traffic police stopped the car. “Manoj came out of the car and the police, on suspicion, performed breath analyser test on him,” the sources said.
As the breath analyser confirmed that the actor was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, they slapped a fine of Rs 2,500 on him before registering a drunk driving case. The police seized the car and parked it in the Nungambakkam station.
