Rs 30 lakh property seized in Nellore
Nellore: Nellore Central Crime Station sleuths arrested an 8-member interstate gang involved in robberies and murders and recovered property worth Rs 30 lakh on Monday. The accused have been identified as Shafiullah and Pamula Sekhar of Kavali, Sheik Basha, Attipati Venkataramana and Sheik Abid of Muthukur, Gandavalla Balaji, Sheik Ismail and Sheik Noorullah of Amancharla.
Interestingly, the accused befriended and decided to form a gang when they were in the prison. According to Nellore SP Vishal Gunni, the gang is involved in all kinds of crimes including snatching of gold chains and has a role in two murders, which came to light during interrogation.
They murdered one Vijayalakshmi of Kavali at Uthukottai in Tamil Nadu in 2010 and a driver Nageswar Rao of Nellore at the forest area in Porumamilla in Kadapa district in 2013. They took away his Innova car. Shafiullah and Sekhar played a major role in the murders.
Among other offences in Nellore, Chittoor and Krishna districts, the gang was also responsible for stealing a Dezire car after assaulting the driver at Ganapavaram in West Godavari district. The property recovered from the accused include two cars, one motorcycle, 40 grams of gold, silver weighing about one and half kg, six agricultural motors, a TV, Laptop and inverter all worth Rs 30 lakh.
