Hyderabad: The family of Rajashekar Reddy, who was allegedly killed in an accident, said that the investigation has been diverted to save the people who were responsible for his death. They alleged that his colleagues had hit his head on the borewell vehicle. However, the police said that the two persons who attacked him and the vehicle owner will be held responsible for hiding facts. The police is waiting for the autopsy report.
Rajashekar’s death on May 25, triggered suspicion after CCTV footage of his colleagues beating him up was found last Wednesday. Based on the footage, his family lodged a complaint alleging that his death was a murder and not an accident.
“Though we had a suspicion we could not do anything as the family was in mourning. But the CCTV footage supported our suspicion. It clearly shows that he was attacked by three of his colleagues and killed. To cover it up they cooked up the accident story,” said Rajashekar’s younger brother Amarender Reddy. He added that Pradeep was not happy with his brother as he was planning to purchase a new borewell machine. As per plan, he took him to a party and after giving him a new dress they executed the plan, he said. “We came to know that Pradeep had suffered loss in business and to recoup it he could have planned the death as a sacrifice to Andole Maisamma,” Amarender added.
Meanwhile, the police concluded that vehicle owner Pradeep Reddy, Venkatesham and Danaiah were responsible for Rajashekar’s death. But the others were not responsible as they tried to stop the fight. “Though they are responsible the cause of death can be established only after the autopsy report comes,” inspector J. Narender Goud said.
