Bengaluru: Man held for murdering friend
Bengaluru: The Chandru Layout police have cracked the murder case of a 54-year-old real estate agent and have arrested his friend in this connection. The police had initially thought it was an accident but the injuries on the body revealed that it was a murder.
The accused has been identified as Nagaraj alias Giddu, 42. He has been accused of murdering his friend Rajanna, a real estate agent, over a trivial issue on May 20 night in Maruthi Layout. Both were residents of Arundhati Nagar.
According to the police, Nagaraj and Rajanna were friends for the last 12 years. About 3-4 years ago, Nagaraj’s relative wanted to buy a residential plot and so Nagaraj had approached Rajanna. Rajanna had shown him a site in Ullal and Nagaraj’s relative had bought that site. Later, they realised that the property was under litigation. Also, Nagaraj learnt that Rajanna had charged a commission of Rs. 3.5 lakh from his relative but had not told him about that.
“This episode had created a rift between them. On May 20 evening, Rajanna along with his friends was watching an IPL cricket match in a building next to Food Point Hotel. Nagaraj also went to to watch the match. When Nagaraj started smoking, Rajanna objected and asked him to go out and smoke. Nagaraj, who was nursing a grudge against Rajanna, decided to kill him.
