Hyderabad: Techie ends life, cops suspect harassment
Hyderabad: A 30-year-old woman committed suicide at her home in Chandanagar, allegedly due to harassment by her husband.
Ganji Rekha and her husband Ujwal, both IT employees, were married ten years ago, and they had three children - two daughters and a son. On Saturday evening, the couple attended a party organised by their company an MNC based at Gadchibowli at a pub in the city and returned home in their car at around 11.30 pm. They did not speak to each other, and slept in different rooms.
On Sunday morning, Ujwal found Rekha hanging from the ceiling.
He later informed her family members and also the police.
Rekha’s family alleged that Ujjwal had been harassing her mentally over financial issues, which pushed her to take the extreme step. Based on a complaint from Rekha's elder sister Rajini, police have charged Ujjwal with abetment to suicide. Police will investigate if there was an altercation between the couple at the party or while returning home.
“Based on the evidence, the investigation will proceed,” said Chandanagar Station Sub-Inspector K Nagaiah.
Police recovered a suicide note from the spot reportedly written by Rekha, in which she did not mention the reason for her suicide, but wrote that nobody is responsible for her death. The note has been sent to forensic analysis.
