Hyderabad: Man stabs wife, her mother
Hyderabad: A 30-year-old man was booked for assaulting his first wife and mother-in-law with a blade on Friday night. Police said the man, Mohd Lateef, attacked his wife, Farheen Begum, with a blade and when his mother-in-law intervened he attacked her too.
The couple had got married seven years back. He had asked her to stay with her mother at Hafeez Baba Nagar after the marriage. "When the wife insisted that she wanted to stay with him he told her that he was going to work outside the city. After two years of marriage, he started harassing her by telling her that she was not beautiful and stopped coming home regularly.
“His wife soon learnt that he had married a woman called Sabha and was staying with her at Riyasath Nagar. He rarely used to visit his first wife and threatened her a few days back that he will murder her,” said Kanchanbagh inspector N. Shankar.
“On Friday night, he came home and complained that he was not able to stay happily with his second wife because of her and in a fit of rage he took out a blade and attacked her. Hearing the commotion his mother-in-law came to stop them but ended up getting a cut on her neck from the blade as he attacked her too,” added the inspector.
The husband fled when neighbours rushed in after hearing the women shrieking. He is now absconding. Based on a complaint from the second wife, Kanchanbagh police registered a case under Section 307. (Attempt to murder) and started an investigation.
