Four persons from delhi held for fraud

Hyderabad: Cyber Crime Police arrested four persons from Delhi for cheating a Hyderabadi by promising to deliver a Honda Amaze car which was allegedly won by him.

The arrested suspects are Himanshu Sharma, Sumit Kumar, Jackson Paul and Mazhar Alam, all from Delhi.

On March 8 CCS received a complaint from Aleemuddin, a resident of Falaknuma, stating that in 2016, the accused Vijay Chauhan, of Crusebeen Enterprises Delhi, contacted him over phone and informed him that he was selected for a Honda Amaze Car Contest and was eligible for awards and other benefits. On the pretext of delivering the car and other gifts, they took Rs17 lakh.

"The victim deposited the money as per the directions of Vijay and his associates in ICICI Bank and SBI bank accounts. Some money was transferred through PayTM and Western Union,” said DCP Avinash Mohanty.

"Based on the tower locations of the accused our team proceeded to Delhi and arrested the gang," added Mr Mohanty.

Cyber Crime Police registered a case under sections 419 (impersonation), 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy).
