Customs officials at RGIA seize gold worth Rs 32,08,902 from a passenger

Hyderabad: Sleuths of Customs department’s air intelligence unit (AIU) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Thursday detained a male passenger who had arrived from Riyadh and seized 514 grams of gold worth ₹32,08, 902 from his possession.

According to a statement issued by the Customs department, the officials grew suspicious and searched the passenger subjected him to tests and found that he had concealed the gold in paste form in his rectum in the form of three capsules.

The officials seized the smuggled gold and detained the passenger for further investigation.
