Based on a complaint lodged by the owner of jewellery shop on April 1, the police launched a massive hunt.
Rajahmundry: A burglar was arrested and four kgs of gold jewellery and 1,300 gms of silver articles were seized from him by the police at Bhimavaram in West Godavari on Saturday.
According to police, Irrinki Chandra Rao hailing from Undi village of Undi mandal in West Godavari was a habitual offender and even served jail term for some time earlier as he was booked for burglary.
However, he broke into a jewellery shop at Bhimavaram in the late night on March 31 and lifted four kgs of gold ornaments and 1,300 gms of silver articles.
Based on a complaint lodged by the owner of jewellery shop on April 1, the police launched a massive hunt.
Cops nabbed the culprit in five days and recovered the stolen gold and silver articles.
