Seven held for inter exam scam

The teachers allegedly took money from students and helped them to write examinations.

Hyderabad: The commissioner’s task force of south zone arrested seven people, including teachers and students, for a scam in the Telangana Open School Society’s distance education Intermediate exams. The teachers allegedly took money from students and helped them to write examinations with proxy candidates.

The arrested people are Mohd Abdullah, 47, departmental officer at Vidyanikethan School, Kodanda Rama Rao, 44, chief superintendent at Vidyanik-ethan School, City College lecturer Syed Saber, Galaxy Junior College clerk Syed Arif, Galaxy Junior College coordinator Syed Samad Hussain, Mohd Abdul Sharjeel, a clerk at Galaxy Junior College and Mohd Afzal, a student.

Police said Syed Arif and Syed Samad Hussain colluded with the employees of City College and Vidyanikethan School to execute the scam. They collected thousands from students pursuing distance education and assured them that proxy candidates will write the exam for them. “They had collected question papers from examination centers before deploying proxy candidates,” said an official. Police booked a cheating case. The cops were alerted by an informer about the scam.
