Hyderabad: Labourer held for molesting, killing kin
HYDERABAD: Siddipet police solved the murder mystery of a 17-year-old girl whose charred body was found in a maize field on Saturday. Police said that the suspect G Ashok, 27, the girl's brother-in-law had molested her and when she resisted, he throttled her to death, set her body ablaze and fled away.
Siddipet Additional DCP Narsimha Reddy said during a press meet that the girl's elder sister had got married to Ashok one year ago. But when he came for the proposal first, he saw the younger girl and wished to marry her. But as he had come to see the elder girl for the marriage, family members did not agree and convinced him to marry the elder girl.
With no other go, Ashok had to marry the elder girl. Though the couple were living together in a neighbouring village, Ashok wished to marry the younger one and started harassing his wife. He was also waiting for an opportunity as the deceased girl was residing alone with her father.
Meanwhile, on Friday, the girl's father had gone to Siddipet town with his younger brother for a medical check up, leaving the girl at the field to keep a watch on the crop.
Taking this as an opportunity, Ashok came to the field and molested her. When she resisted him, he throttled her to death and later emptied a kerosene can from the field on the body and set it ablaze. Ashok was arrested and sent to remand on Tuesday.
