Hyderabad: Disturbed youth jumps to death from building
Hyderabad: A 19-year-old youth was found dead in suspicious conditions in Jagathgirigutta on Monday. Police said Akash who was mentally ill could have jumped from the top of an under construction building in the early hours of Monday. The residents of Venkateshwara Nagar found an unidentified body lying on the road with serious injuries. After inquiring in the area police identified the deceased as R. Akash, a resident of Vanasthalipuram. He was staying in his maternal uncle Narsimha's house in Venkateshwara Nagar.
After his father Baburao’s death some years ago, his uncle brought him to Jagathgirigutta to stay with him and work in his bakery, while his mother continued to stay in Vanasthalipuram. In Narsimha’s absence Akash used to look after the bakery. After his father’s death, Akash became mentally ill and was undergoing treatment. On Sunday night, his uncle saw him last at 2.30 am while he was sleeping, but he was missing when they woke up in the morning.
Jagathgirigutta inspector P. Srinivas said they have collected Akash’s medical prescriptions to check his medical condition. “Though the exact cause of death is not known, we suspect he could have jumped from the top of the building. The autopsy report will give the exact cause of death,” he said. A case was registered and the body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
