Visakhapatnam: Woman burnt alive in thatched hut

Visakhapatnam: In a freak incident, a 63-year-old woman was burnt alive at Chettupalli area under Narsipatnam Rural police station limits in Vizag district in the wee hours on Saturday. The deceased was identified as G. Appalanarsamma alias Varahalamma. As per the reports, the woman was staying in a hut and on Friday night, she lit fire to warm herself up in the wake of the winter chill.

The fire spread and the engulfed the entire hut. As all here neighbours were asleep at the time of the incident, the woman was burnt alive. The police registered a case and began investigation into the incident.
