Hyderabad: A 48-year-old English teacher working in the Shapur Nagar ZPHS was arrested by the Jeedimetla police on Thursday. Police booked a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act against Rajarao for allegedly molesting girl students.
On Wednesday, a Class VI girl of the ZP High School and her father complained to the police that Rajarao had molested her. After police registered a case, four other girls complained about Rajarao. Police recorded their statements and started an inquiry.
Police found that Rajarao was working in the school since seven years. Though he did not have a criminal record he used to molest girls in the classroom disguising it as punishment. The girls said that whenever there were mistakes in their works he used to pinch or touch them inappropriately in front of others. One parent approached Balala Hakkula Sangham, and as per their advice lodged a complaint with the police. After coming to know about the complaint Rajarao went absconding. On Thursday police arrested him and he was remanded to custody.
