Kakinada: A group of women from Kunaparaju Parva village of Reddygudi Mandal tried to force their entry to the Nuzvid Town Police Station to grab a youth from police custody. The police closed the doors of the station and prevented their attempt.
According to Nuzvid CI, MVS Murthy, a 22-year-old woman married R Rajakumar of Nuzvid. When the wife asked Rajkumar she wanted to go to her parents’ house at Kunaparaju Parva village, Rajkumar took the girl to the RTC bus stand on December 2.
CCTV footage showed the girl boarded a bus. But she did not reach her parents’ house. The parents lodged a complaint with the Nuzvid town police. The cops took Rajakumar and some of his associates into their custody.
Meanwhile, some people including women from the wife's side reached the station and demanded that the police hand him over to them to go and locate their girl. The police dispersed the women from the spot.
