Two killed in huge explosion of firecrackers in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Two men died and another was reported severely injured in an explosion at Chatrinaka in the city late on Thursday. The fire is suspected to have been caused due to crackers in the house, the police said.
According to sources, the victims, Virender Kumar and Jagannath, were working at a unit at Kandikal Gate under Chatrinaka police limits. On Thursday night, when they were preparing to burst crackers, the explosion took place, killing the two and injuring another man.
The impact of the explosion was such that it created a crater at the place, and the bodies of the victims were thrown to some distance.
Following a call by the area locals, the police and fire teams rushed to the spot and a case was registered. An investigation was launched to ascertain the cause of fire.
