Hyderabad: Teen steals phone, gets three-year rigorous imprisonment

When he woke up the next day, he noticed that two mobilephones kept in the living room had gone missing.

Hyderabad: A 19-year-old habitual offender was rewarded with three years rigorous imprisonment by the court on Monday for stealing two mobile phones from a house at Borabanda.

Kaluri Mahesh, a barber, was a resident of Peddamma Nagar in Borabanda area of S.R. Nagar. On April 21 this year, a complaint was received from P. Srinivas, 40, a resident of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar Site III Borabanda, wherein he stated that on the previous night, at about 11 pm, he was sleeping with his house doors open due to the heat.

When he woke up the next day, he noticed that two mobilephones kept in the living room had gone missing. Following this, a case was booked and an investigation was started.

Kaluri Mahesh was arrested on April 22 along with the stolen property and was remanded to judicial custody.

On Monday, after seeing all the evidence, the Nampally criminal court judge sentenced him to serve three years of rigorous imprisonment.
