Hyderabad: A 20-year-old youth was jailed for two days by a court for assaulting a minor girl and harassing her to accept his proposal.
The accused was continuously following the girl and harassing her, said the police.
According to the Rachakonda police, the victim was a Class X student in a private school from Badangpet under Meerpet police station limits.
She lodged a complaint with the She Teams police against one Satish, 20, residing in her neighbourhood.
The girl stated that the accused was following the girl and stalking her under the pretext of love, and harassed her to love him back.
“Unable to bear his harassment, she also attempted suicide. She later approached the She Teams, following which a case was registered against Satish,” said the police.
The police said that the accused was produced in the First Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Court at LB Nagar on Monday, which convicted him under Sections 245, 358 and 306 of IPC and imprisoned him for two days.
The accused has been put at Cherlapally central prison following the court orders, said the police.
