Tirupati: A retired judge allegedly committed suicide by lying on a railway track between Tirupati and Renigunta railway stations here on Friday. Shocked after hearing the news, his wife too committed suicide at the same spot.
According to Government Railway Police circle inspector M. Aseervadam, the body of the retired judge, Pamuru Sudhakar, 62, was found on the track at about 1 pm. After recovering the body, the police informed his family. “After three hours, we received a call saying that a woman was lying dead on the track at the spot where the retired judge’s body was recovered”, the CI said.
They immediately rushed to the spot and found that Sudhakar’s wife Varalakshmi, 56, had committed suicide at the same spot. “We recovered her body and sent to autopsy,” he said.
