Six ration shops sealed in Kakinada

The Vigilance Tahasildar G Gopala Rao said that there was a variation of stocks between E-PoS and actual stocks.

Kakinada: The Vigilance Officials conducted raids on six ration shops at Eluru, Prathipadu, Uttarakanchi and other villages in Prathipadu mandal on Thursday and found over 360 quintals of rice excess for the dealers.

The Vigilance Tahasildar G.Gopala Rao said that there was a variation of stocks between E-PoS and actual stocks.

The Vigilance and Enforcement Circle inspectors Mr Rammhoan Reddy, Mr Sai Ramesh, Mr Satya Kishore and others participated in the raids.

However, the ration shop dealers say that the beneficiaries gave their thumb impressions on an E-PoS machine and asked them that they would take the rice later as they went to some other places.

However, Mr Gopala Rao said that the shops have been seized and six cases have been booked against them.
