Bengaluru: Minor girl fakes rape bid; boyfriend, his friend land in jail
Bengaluru: A minor college girl staged an abduction and attempt to rape drama that landed her boyfriend and his friend in prison.
The Cottonpet police have booked the two youngsters, – Farhan Ahmed (18), a resident Haleguddadahalli, and Sandeep Sen (18), a resident Chandra Layout – under Section 363 (kidnapping) and have remanded them to judicial custody.
The police said that the mother of the minor girl, who is a II PUC student in Adarsha PU College, filed a missing complaint when her daughter didn’t return home on Tuesday night. The girl had left home around 10.30 pm and when she did not return after some hours, her parents panicked and filed the complaint. The girl came home around 2.30 am and told her parents that she was kidnapped and there was an attempt was to rape her. The mother got worried and took the girl to the police station.
The minor girl told the police that she was kidnapped by three people in an Innova car that did not have registration plates and took her to an isolated place where they tried to rape her.
The police grew suspicious and grilled her to get to the truth. They found out that the girl was in love with Farhan for the last two years and her family had decided to marry her off as soon she turned 18. When the girl came to know about the marriage plans of her family, she called Farhan and asked him to come near the Santoshi Maa temple. He arrived with his friend on a scooter around 10.20 pm. They spent time till 2 am at Farhan’s garage. While returning home, the girl injured herself in the hand and cooked up the story.
The police said, “There were rounds of Whatsapp messages between the girl and her boyfriend to fix the location to meet each other, and there was enough conversation to say that both were in love. Eventually, the girl confessed to it. The two youngsters were arrested as the mother did not withdraw the complaint and the girl was taken away without the consent of the parents,” a police officer said.
