Hyderabad: The charred body of an unidentified woman, who was pregnant, was found on the outskirts of Rangampally village in Vikarabad district on Thursday. Police who registered a case of murder suspect that the woman, in her mid-20s, could have been killed and her body burnt to erase the evidence.
According to Pargi police, locals noticed, during the early hours on Thursday, the body of a woman lying in a trench beside the road on the outskirts of Rangampally village under Pargi police station limits and alerted police. A team of personnel along with the clues team and dog squad visited the scene of the crime, recovered the body and sent it for autopsy to the government hospital.
Police said, “The woman appears to be aged between 20 and 25 years. No identification cards or any other material was found at the scene of the crime. She could have been murdered during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.”
Information about the incident was shared with counterparts elsewhere to find if any woman missing case was registered. So far, the identity of the deceased has not been established, said police, who registered a case of murder for a probe....
