Rajahmundry: A married woman committed suicide by consuming poison at Bangariapeta village of Routhulapudi mandal in East Godavari on Saturday. According to Annavaram police, Randha Veera Venkata Lakshmi, 29, a resident of Bangaraiahpeta village, was married nine years ago and has two sons.
She began living separately three years ago due to family disputes. Leaving her two sons with her parents, she moved to Sarpavaram to work as a labourer to live on her own. She used to visit her parents occasionally. On Friday, feeling dejected as she was not having a proper source of earning, she consumed poison and fell sick.
Her parents shifted her to government hospital at Routhulapudi and later to the area hospital at Tuni for better medical care. She died while undergoing treatment in the early hours of Saturday. Police booked a case and investigation is on.
