Hyderabad: Man held for making fake certificates

The arrested man, B. Laxmi Narayana alias Raj Kumar, 40, runs a computer training institute named Tisht at Tarnaka.

Hyderabad: The West Zone Task Force nabbed a man who was preparing fake educational certificates of degree and PG in the name of ‘Karnataka Open University’ on Friday.

The arrested man, B. Laxmi Narayana alias Raj Kumar, 40, runs a computer training institute named Tisht at Tarnaka. Police seized 20 fake educational certificates from him.

“Laxmi Narayana was running the institute since three years but was not making profits. In 2015, he met one M. Satyanarayana, Chairman of ‘Hiworth Educations’, who provided fake educational certificates of degree and PG within 45 days and charged huge amounts for them. He too decided to supply fake certificates with the help of M. Satyanarayana who agreed to supply fake certificates to him,” said Commissioner’s Task Force deputy commissioner of police B. Limba Reddy.

Laxmi Narayana charged clients Rs 30,000 for degree and Rs 40,000 for post graduation certificates. So far, he has sold fake certificates to nearly 50-80 persons, police said.

The accused and the seized articles were handed over to Osmania University police station for action as per law.
