Woman dies in Coimbatore Government Hospital; probe confirms murder

The deceased Lolitha was found in an unconscious state near a plot on R S Canal Road in Pollachi.

Thrissur: The 42-year-old woman who was missing since Wednesday night from here died at Coimbatore Government Hospital on Thursday night. The deceased Lolitha who is a mother of two children was an employee of a textile shop in Thrissur town. She was found in an unconscious state near a plot on R S Canal Road in Pollachi. As her condition was serious, she was shifted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital where she died.

On being informed, a team of policemen led by East SI P Lalkumar went to Pollachi and the investigation proved that she had been poisoned. “We have confirmed that it is a case of murder and have conducted investigations in Pollachi. The body is presently kept at the Medical College Hospital in Thrissur and the postmortem will be conducted on Saturday morning,” he said adding that the police were yet to take anyone into custody in connection with the murder.

East CI K.S. Sethu told DC that Lolitha is a resident of Chettupuzha near here and was staying away from her husband. “The police is inquiring into all aspects of how she reached Pollachi and whether she had any relationship with anyone,” he said.
