Sub-inspector hopeful commits suicide

Arige Satyanarayana hanged himself from a ventilator in his home.

Hyderabad: After failing to qualify in the SI test conducted recently, a 24-year-old man committed suicide in Kukatpally. Arige Satyanarayana hanged himself from a ventilator in his home. He left a suicide note saying that he was unable to succeed in life. Police said Satyanarayana is the eldest son of Narsinga Rao, a construction contractor. He completed graduation and was preparing for government examinations. After his failure to qualify in the recent SI test he became depressed. On Wednesday night, while his family was in the hall of his house, he went to his room upstairs and locked in. When his mother went up to call him for dinner, there was no answer. They knocked on the door for a long time but there was no response.

“His father used a ladder to look into his room and saw him hanging on the ventilator hook,” said SI Kranti Kukatpally. He also left a suicide note saying that nobody was responsible for his death and that he is committing suicide as he had failed in academics and in finding a job. Based on a complaint from his father a suspicious death case was registered. The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
