Shweta's parents alleged that Bharath kidnapped their daughter and attempted to murder her.

Hyderabad: A minor argument on whether to keep the bag in the front or the back, led to the death of an MBA final year student, who was riding pillion on her friend’s bike. He was taking her back from her exam centre.

Shweta Reddy, 30, died while undergoing treatment on Thursday morning, the police said.

“Shweta was a final year MBA student and on June 30, she met Bharath Nath, 26, after her exam and they were leaving the college together on his bike,” said A. Venkataiah, inspector of Choutuppal.

“On June 30, Shweta went to Ashoka Engineering College for her exams and Bharath came to pick her up from there. They had an argument about whether Shweta’s backpack should be worn by him, kept in between them or worn by Shweta, leaving no space between them. During the argument, Shweta fell off the bike and received severe head injuries, following which she was undergoing treatment,” said the official.

The official added that Shweta, a student of Netaji College met Bharath, a pharmacy graduate, in 2014 through mutual friends. She recently got engaged in June and was due to be married.

However, Shweta’s parents alleged that Bharath kidnapped their daughter and attempted to murder her.
