Hyderabad: A 20-year-old desperate groom held for theft
Hyderabad: Hyderabad police arrested a 20-year-old man who allegedly broke into a house of his neighbour and stole over Rs 13 lakh. Mohd Yousuf Khan, a resident of Tadbund, decided to commit the crime after his employer refused to lend him money for his marriage.
According to police, Khan is a cook at a local restaurant and his wedding was fixed, but he did not have enough money to bear the expenses.
On Sunday night, he conducted a recce at the house of a local trader, Mohd Faheem. “After the house owner and family left, the suspect made his way into the house through the first floor which was under construction. He then entered the bathroom through an open ventilator and then stole the cash,” said a police official from Commissioner’s Task Force.
“The suspect stole the money, and while he was escaping from the scene, the house owner woke up and tried to chase him. But, he locked the front door from outside and gave the slip to the owner,” said the official.
Following a complaint from the house owner, cops arrested him in just two days. Around Rs 11 lakh cash was recovered from his house.
