Bengaluru: Pervert films women techies in toilets, caught red-handed
Bengaluru: A pervert, who used his mobile phone to film women in a toilet at a reputed IT company, is cooling his heels in jail after being caught red handed by a woman techie.
The accused, 22-year-old Parmesh, is a resident of Kundalahalli and hails from Mangaluru. Parmesh, who worked at a food court on the terrace of the company building for the last four years, spied on women customers and secretly filmed them in the toilet on the same floor.
He was indulging in the perverse act for a long time, but was caught only on Monday when the woman techie noticed a mobile phone kept inside the toilet.
The restaurant is on the roof top of the four-storey building where the company is located. On the same floor, there are two toilets for men and women. In the women's toilets, there are two sections with a partition and a gap of one foot between the floor and the partition.
The accused filmed women from that gap, said HAL Police Inspector Sadiq Pasha, who is investigating the case. The accused was well aware of the timing of the staff coming to these toilets.
“While there was no one around, he would enter the toilets and sit waiting for the women workers to enter. He would film them and come out only when there was no one around. The accused kept the mobile phone on the ground with the video recording mode,” he said.
On Monday, he was filming a woman when she noticed the mobile phone and caught him red-handed. But Parmesh managed to escape, reached home and deleted all the recordings.
The police arrested him from his house and confiscated his mobile phone. They have sent the phone to a forensic science laboratory to retrieve the deleted data. “Once the data is retrieved, we will know since when he had been indulging in such acts,” the police said.
