Hyderabad: Rachakonda police conducted a cordon and search operation at Vinayakanagar under the Neredmet police station limits on Saturday morning and detained two rowdy-sheeters from the area.
Police searched Old Safilguda and Vinayaknagar areas and searched all residences thoroughly. Some 50 bikes, one auto-rickshaw and one car that didn't have valid documents were seized for verification. Eight LPG cylinders stored illegally were also seized.
ACP P. Krishna Murthy said the searches were conducted to check the movements of anti-social elements in the area. He said that the seized vehicles will be released after the owners produce relevant documents.
About 200 cops from different police wings participated in the searches, conducted under the supervision of Malkajgiri DCP Ch R. Umamaheshwar Sharma, from 3am to 6am on Saturday.
