Hyderabad: Sleuths from SOT Madhapur zone and Miyapur police on Tuesday arrested three persons involved in sale of forged general insurance policies certificates and seized 116 fake certificates from them.
The gang was involved in forging general insurance policies of ICICI Lombard general insurance, Bharati general insurance, United India General insurance, Digit general insurance and HDFC Ergo general insurance, They sold them for high amounts, said K. Shilpavalli, DCP Madhapur at a press conference here on Wednesday.
In addition to recovery of fake general insurance policies, they also seized rubber stamps of the insurers, four mobile phones, ₹79,000 cash and automobiles all worth ₹7.25 lakh, he said.
The arrested include Mohammed Sarwar Sharief, Mirza Iliaz Baig and Shaik Jameel Ahmed, while another accused Azhar remains absconding.
The DCP appealed to the general public to only approach authorized insurance companies for any of their needs.
