WARANGAL: In a shocking incident, a Sub-inspector of Police and his wife ended their lives within hours over family dispute here in Jangaon district on Thursday.
The SI shot himself dead with his service revolver hours after his wife committed suicide by hanging to the ventilator in the bathroom in their house.
According to the police, the SI identified as K. Srinivas (55) working at the local police station was staying in Jangaon town with his wife Swarupa (50) and their two children are in Hyderabad.
Srinivas had heated argument with Swarupa in the early hours on Thursday over family and financial matters. Later, Swarupa who went into the bathroom committed suicide by hanging.
After sometime, Srinivas who never expected that Swarupa would end her life was shocked to see her hanging in the bathroom. Recovering from the shock, he informed his children and relatives about the incident who in turn rushed to his house.
Srinivas’s relatives, ACP Devander Reddy and inspector Nagababu visited his house and tried to console him. Unable to bear the shock, Srinivas went to the washroom and shot himself with his service revolver and died on the spot.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police Seetharam expressed shock and grief over the suicide of the SI couple. The police registered a case and started an investigation.
