According to police, “The dispute was related to 32 guntas of land which belonged to a Math. One Guruswamappa (a BJP worker) and Rajamma, threw bathroom cleaner on one G.P. Swamy, a Congress activist and a gram panchayat member, and his son Sudarshan. They suffered superficial burn injuries and are being treated at Gundlupet government hospital,” he said.
They added, “Guruswamappa and Rajamma had taken the math land on lease for five years and the lease period ended on March 31. Now Swamy had taken up the land on lease, but when he was heading towards the land, he was attacked,” police said.
