KALABURAGI: A case of molestation and eve-teasing has been registered against the Chief Law Officer of North Eastern Road Transport Corporation (NEKSRTC) Sangappa Rotti here.
In a complaint to the police, Shobha, who is an assistant at the corporate office of the NEKRTC here, has alleged that the officer started harassing her after she refused to yield to his sexual desires.
“Initially the officer was okay with me. But trouble started after he learnt that I’m a widow. He thought that he could make me yield to his sexual desires. But when I refused, he started harassing me by passing lewd comments, making obscene gestures, insulting in the presence of others, making me sit in his chamber even after office hours, scolding me using foul language for the mistakes not done by me etc”.
Unable to bear the harassment, Shobha had reportedly brought the matter to higher officers of the department, who told him to desist from his activity. But instead of mending his ways, the officer allegedly became more revengeful.
The family members of Shobha, who met the officer, had also advised the officer to conduct himself properly, but the latter did not give up his habit.
On the contrary, the officer has allegedly threatened Shobha of teaching her ‘a lessons’ for ‘refusing to yield to him’ and for ‘tarnishing his image’ by informing others.
