Bengaluru police want ATM attacker's custody

Another special team of police officials will go to Madanapalli in Chittoor district, where the accused, Madhukar Reddy, was nabbed.

BENGALURU: A day after the 35-year-old ATM butcher, who had three years ago attacked a woman inside an ATM kiosk in the city, was nabbed by the Andhra Pradesh police in Chittoor, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Praveen Sood held a meeting with senior officials on getting the accused into city police's custody.

Another special team of police officials will go to Madanapalli in Chittoor district, where the accused, Madhukar Reddy, was nabbed. It must be noted that a CCB police team left to Madanapalli immediately after they got information of the arrest of ATM attacker.

Once reaching Madanapalli, the special team will interrogate the accused, collect crucial information and submit an application at the local court to get the body warrant of the accused. Reddy is also involved in many other cases in Andhra Pradesh.

Even senior police personnel attached to Chittoor police station were said to have conducted a high level meeting on whether to hand over the accused to Bengaluru police or to slap a case against him by AP police and carry out the investigation.
