BENGALURU: While the alleged incident of BJP MP Ananth Hegde assaulting doctors is yet to die down, a BBMP Congress Corporator has been accused of thrashing a youth in front his residence on Wednesday late evening. According to Girish, the youth who has filed the complaint against Ananda P Nanda, HBR Layout Corporator (Ward no 24), he was attacked after he dropped his friend, who resides near the corporator's house.
"I was talking to my friend and the corporator, who was under the influence of alcohol, questioned him in threatening tone. Later he along with others thrashed me. I was left bleeding and later called my father. I was hit on my face and on my head with my own helmet and even kicked and hit with a solid material. I blocked some of the blow, but I was bleeding and my shirt was torn off," said Giri in his statement. However, the corporator, who has also filed a complaint in the matter, said that youth was standing with a girl and publicly displaying affection. When I questioned him and referred to the heinous Kammanahalli incident, he got furious and attacked us.
"I did not attack the youth. I was only concerned with his misconduct. It was later when the public gathered, the police was contacted," Ananda said. The Banaswadi police have registered both the complaints, registering the case under Sec 324 of the IPC, and are investigating the matter.
