Hyderabad: A 32 year-old man working as a cab driver was arrested by the Saidabad police on charges of the sexual assault of a girl, 16, by luring her on the pretext of love and marrying her.
According to Saidabad police, accused Bharghav, 32, a cab driver is a resident of Harijan Basti in Saidabad. The family of an auto driver was living as tenants in the house of Bhargav, who is already married and his wife is pregnant.
About three months ago, his tenant, the auto driver got to know that Bharghav was moving around with his daughter, 16. The autodriver warned him and also moved to another house. However, the accused did not change his attitude and lured the girl in the name of love.
Later, Bharghav also sent some private pictures of the girl to her father threatening him to get the girl married to him as a second wife. When the victim’s father questioned him, the accused said that he had taken the girl to Yadagirigutta where he had sexual intercourse with her thrice, said the police.
The victim’s father lodged a complaint following which Bharghav has been arrested under the relevant sections of IPC and the POCSO Act, the police added.
