Visakhapatnam: Woman among three held for killing man
Vizianagaram: A woman, who successfully eliminated her husband a few days back landed behind the bars on Friday.
But, the cops were surprised behind the motive of the murder as the woman, with the support of a few others, killed her husband for an insurance claim. The arrested were identified Y. Varalakshmi, G. Srinivas and K. Ramu. Two more accused persons are still at large and the deceased was identified as Y. Nookaraju.
Talking to newsmen here on Friday, superintendent of police, Vizianagaram, L.V.K. Ranga Rao said that Nookaraju, native of Kakinada has married Varalakshmi of Anakapalle around two decades back and the couple had five daughters. The couple settled at S Kota in Vizianagaram district and Nookaraju was a private money lender. However, Raju was addicted to liquor and had been quarrelling with his wife Varalakshmi over petty issues.
Varalakshmi, who is an LIC agent and invested some amount in real-estate sector, had made insurance polices of Rs 38 lakh in her husband’s name and nominated herself as the beneficiary. Fed up with Raju’s attitude, Varalakshmi decided to eliminate him with the support of her relatives Ramu to Srinivas for the insurance claim.
On October 26, Varalakshmi, Ramu and Srinivas have hired a car and boarded along with Nookaraju and forced him to drink more alcohol till he fell unconscious.
Later, they had taken him to outskirts of S Kota and killed him by smashing his head with a boulder to depict it as an accidental case.
However, the S Kota police have solved the mystery behind the murder on Friday by nabbing three persons and Varalakshmi has confessed that she eliminated her husband to claim the insurance.
