Hyderabad: Minor sisters 'sexually abused' for a year by father, others
Hyderabad: Police have rescued two sisters, aged eight and 10 years old, from a home in Hyderabad after receiving complaint that they were being sexually abused for the past one year.
According to a report in NDTV, the girls have alleged that they were sexually abused by their father, uncles, and brother and his friends. Police have taken the parents of the minor girls into custody for interrogation.
They have also arrested a man named Jaffar and his minor son. Jaffar allegedly started sexually abusing the minor girls after becoming friends with their mother.
The complaint was filed after one of the sisters complained of stomach ache to a school teacher, who informed a child rights organisation about the alleged sexual abuse. The girls have been sent for medical examination.
“We have registered cases of rape, intimidation, and also under POCSO, the law for preventing sexual crimes against children. We could add more sections of law as more is unravelled in the investigation,” Shamshabad DCP Padmaja said.
Police suspect the victims’ 14-year-old brother may also have been involved in sexual activity. They are investigating the case further, suspecting it be a case of child sex racket.
Meanwhile, the girls will stay in a rescue home, where they would be given counselling for the physical, sexual and psychological trauma that they went through in the past one year.
