Hyderabad TRS president Mynampally's men assault RTI activist
Hyderabad: A whistleblower who filed an RTI request seeking information regarding the illegal buildings of TRS city president Mynampally Hanumanth Rao, was allegedly beaten up by his associates.
P.M. Sai Prasad filed a complaint on Tuesday regarding this. The police registered a case against Nakka Prabhakar and others involved in the incident. Prabhakar also lodged a complaint against Sai Prasad.
Mynampally denied that Sai Prasad had filed a RTI request seeking details of the permissions given for the buildings owned by Mynampalli’s wife M. Vani at Golnaka in Old Alwal. The RTI reply said the building did not have permission from GHMC. Since then Mynampally was waiting for a chance to get even with Prasad.
On Tuesday while Prasad was standing near his house, Mynampalli’s close friend Nakka Prabhakar, who contested from Medchal on a TD ticket, drove towards him in his car and started abusing him. “He threatened to kill me if I did not withdraw the PIL and the RTI petitions filed against Mynampally Hanumanth Rao. When I said that I will not withdraw he told me to wait and soon around 15 persons reached the spot in cars and started beating me up. They pinned me to the ground and punched me on the face and kicked me,” Sai Prasad said.
Alwal police registered a case under Sections 506, 341 and 323 and 34. NakKa Prabhakar also lodged a complaint against Sai Prasad alleging that he intercepted his vehicle and assaulted him and a case was registered against Sai Prasad. Mynampalli denied that his men attacked Sai Prasad.
