Hyderabad: Rave party busted, 4 rescued

The official said that the two Mumbai-based women were called to the city about a month ago by Tamanna to perform dances at private parties.

HYDERABAD: Four women were rescued and one transgender and 12 men hailing from the Old City area in Hyderabad were apprehended by the Special Operations Team (SOT) of Cyberabad for holding a rave party at a farmhouse in Keshampet in Shadnagar on Monday night. Among the rescued, two women from Mumbai were brought to the city by the transgender to perform at the private party organised by Shaik Amir of Chandrayangutta at his father Ibrahim’s farmhouse.

Acting on a tip, the sleuths of SOT (Shamshabad zone) rushed to the farmhouse, where they found the group of 17 people drinking alcohol and dancing in an obscene manner. The police then intervened and brought the party to a halt. SOT (Shamshabad) inspector M. Praveen Reddy said, “The transgender, identified as Tamanna from Hyderabad, organised the rave party. She procured four women to dance and indulge in other illegal activities at the party. Amir invited 11 of his friends to the party.”

The official said that the two Mumbai-based women were called to the city about a month ago by Tamanna to perform dances at private parties. “Tamanna harbours the women for a certain period and then hands them over to other brokers who organise such parties in other cities. The women were offered about Rs 30,000 per party, Tamanna takes 30 per cent commission from them,” said the official.

It is learned that a wide network of such brokers is present across the country to organise rave parties. During the raids, about 26 mobile phones, Rs 25,000 cash, one bike and two cars were seized from the farmhouse and they were all handed over to the Keshampet police. An official from Keshampet police station said that a case of nuisance has been registered based on the complaint by the SOT team, and further investigation is on. The rescued women would be sent to a shelter home, according to the police officials of Keshampet station.
