Bengaluru: Law student beaten by hotel staff
Bengaluru: A 22-year-old law student was allegedly assaulted by the staff of a bar and restaurant located on New BEL Road in Sadashivnagar police station limits, early Monday.
The victim has been identified as Rutwick Paritosh, a resident of M.S. Ramaiah Nagar and a law student, hailing from Bihar.
Police said that on Sunday night, Paritosh along with his friends went to the bar and ordered alcohol and dinner. The incident took place at about 12.30 a.m.
A senior police official told Deccan Chronicle that as there was delay in serving dinner, Paritosh questioned the waiter, identified as Arun. Despite assurance of serving soon, it got delayed even further. Paritosh lost his cool and questioned the two waiters, identified as Arun Kumar and Lakshman, and this led to heated arguments. Meanwhile hearing the commotion, a bouncer, identified as Rakshith, intervened and told Paritosh to back-off. In his complaint, Paritosh charged that Rakshith allegedly grabbed a beer bottle and hit him on his head.
However, a police official privy to the probe said there was a fight in the bar and in a fit of rage Rakshith had pushed Paritosh, following which he sustained injuries. On Monday, Paritosh registered a complaint with Sadashivnagar police, who arrested Arun, Lakshman and Rakshith and produced them before a magistrate. Later, the trio was released on bail.
