Telangana: Man held for strangling his wife

Pahadishareef police booked a case under IPC and he was remanded to judicial custody.

Hyderabad: A 26-year-old man killed his wife by strangling her with a saree in the Yacharam forest area and filed a missing case with Pahadishareef police on Monday.

The husband, Ramavat Sriram, a resident of Tuppuguda and working as an office boy at a private firm was married to Ramavat Lalitha, 20, and the couple had two kids aged 3 and 2 years.

“He was having an affair with a woman who stays in the same area. To avoid conflicts with his wife due to his affair with the other woman he killed her on Monday afternoon and filed a missing case with us about his wife,” said Pahadishareef police inspector V.V. Chalapathi.

On Monday he took his wife to the Yacharam forests and strangled her to death with a saree and on the same night he filed a missing case, police said.

“However, we suspected his involvement in the case and during the investigation he confessed to murdering his wife due to his love affair,” added the inspector.

Pahadishareef police booked a case under IPC and he was remanded to judicial custody.
