Hyderabad: Six men arrested with drugs
Hyderabad: The West Zone Task Force and the SR Nagar police apprehended six persons who were carrying the psychotropic substances Alprazolam and Diazepam.
Police seized 2.5 kg of Alprazolam and 500 grams of Diazepam from them on Thursday.
The arrested men are K. Kiran Goud, 31, a toddy contractor, G. Pandu Goud, 25, a student from Siddipet, K. Naveen, 23, a student from Siddipet, Y. Srikanth, 24, Mohd Azmath, 24, and K. Basavaraju, 32, an autorickshaw driver.
“About six months back Kiran Goud started toddy business in his native place. Two months ago his business crashed and differences arose between him and some elders. He used to mix Alprazolam and Diazepam in the toddy,” said DCP B. Limba Reddy.
“Kiran used to purchase Alprazolam for Rs 1.30 lakh a kg and Diazepam for Rs 10,000 a kg from one Chary. He had 2.5 kg Alprazolam and half kg Diazepam and decided to sell it,” added the DCP.
On Thursday, Kiran and the others arrested came to Ameerpet and were caught by the Task Force police team.
The arrested men and the seized material were handed over to SR Nagar police.
